It was a great privilege and fulfilment for me today as I welcome the first batch of the Nigerian Senate delegation led by the Chairman Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions Senator (Dr.) Patrick Ayo Akinyelure.

Also in the delegation are Chairman Senate Committee on Primary Health-care and Communicable Diseases and also Vice Chairman, on National Security and Intelligence Committee, Senator Chukwuka Utazi.

In the delegation that arrived today is Senator Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology. Also, the Managing Partner of Messerand Mr. Victor Ugwuh.

Other members of the delegation expected tomorrow are Senator Gabriel Suswan, Chairman Senate Committee on Power, Senator Mathew Urhoghide, Senate Committee on Public Accounts and Senator Akpan Bassey Albert, Chairman Senate Committee on Petroleum Upstream.

These Nigerian Senate delegation are expected to participate in our programme titled “Strengthening Parliamentary Oversight, Monitoring and Supervision of Government Business in an Emerging Democracy.”

We have put together top experts to ensure we add value, competence and trust in the Legislative duties of the Nigerian Senate.

The African adage says “When a young man washes his hands clean, he can dine with the elders.”

Kindly join me to appreciate these top Nigerian Senators for taking time off their very tight schedule to honor our invitation despite the current Covid-19 pandemic saga. It is my hope that they will return back to Nigeria 🇳🇬 satisfied.
