Breaking News: After a successful meeting with the Czech Football Federation President Mr. Petr Fousek and the Vice-President Mr. Jiri Sidliak at the FA Headquarter in Prague, they have finally agreed to my request for an international friendly match between the Czech U-17and U-21 and a Delta State selected Side.
They offered me their U-16, U-17, U-19, U-21 and U-23. I opted for U-17 & U-21. The first games will be played in Delta State, Nigeria in April 2023 and the return matches will be played in Prague, Czech Republic in May 2023.
We agreed to discuss further on other areas when we meet again at the next FIFA Congress holding for the first time in Africa; Kigali, Rwanda in April 2023.
It is my intention to name this tournament “The Olu of Warri” Tournament and I have discussed this with His Royal Majesty, The Olu of Warri during my meeting with him in Abuja.
It has been my passion to give our young Football talents, the opportunity to showcase their potential at European level. This ofcourse will be a great opportunity to get the best talents in Nigeria for this international encounter.
I have started discussions with top coaches in Nigeria on how we can screen and get these teams together for the matches.
We will also get European football scouts to watch them in Prague, when they play the return games.
Hopefully, some or all the boys will get their chance to play in European teams of their dreams.
I was back from Nigeria in time to seal this deal in Prague. I am proceeding to my next assignment in Havirus, Czech Republic to finalize the acquisition of a Football Club for a very close Nigerian friend.
I hope to be back in term to celebrate New Year with my family.
