Curacao Island is a Dutch colony in the Caribbean. They are the largest and most populated among the ABC (Aruba, Bonnaire and Curacao) Countries. A country with political and economic autonomy rich in crude oil refining capacity.
It was a privilege to meet with the Curacao Island’s Prime Minister, His Excellency, Mr. Gilmar Simon Pisas a Curaçaoan politician and current Prime Minister of Curaçao, serving since 14 June 2021. He previously served as Prime Minister between 24 March 2017 and 29 May 2017, and as a member of the Parliament of Curaçao until June 2021.
I met with his core strategic cabinet team in Amsterdam to discuss ways of tapping into the mutual potential and business opportunities between the Island Country and the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. We can learn a lot from the booming Caribbean tourism industry and refining capacity.
The Finance Minister Mr. Javier Silvania, the Minister Plenipotentiary, Mr. Carlson Manuel and Policy Advisor to the Island Mrs. Roxienne Albertina were all part of the meeting. The future is full of enormous possibilities at a time the region must look beyond FAAC and internally generated revenue.
